{"id":1110,"date":"2016-02-09T13:55:35","date_gmt":"2016-02-09T13:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/guidecomo.it\/en\/?p=1110"},"modified":"2016-03-10T18:49:12","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T18:49:12","slug":"il-carnevale-di-schignano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/guidecomo.it\/en\/il-carnevale-di-schignano\/","title":{"rendered":"The Carnival of Schignano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span title=\"Una delle tradizioni legate al carnevale \u00e8 quella del piccolo paese di Schignano.\">One of the traditions related to the <strong>Carnival<\/strong> is that of the small\u00a0village of <strong>Schignano.<\/strong> <\/span><span title=\"Qui ogni anno prende vita una rappresentazione ricca di fascino e dal significato particolare. \u00a0\">Here every year is possible to participate to a representation of rich charm and special meaning.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Tra i vari personaggi che si incontrano per le strade di Schignano c\u2019\u00e8 il Brut: le maschere di legno intagliato a mano rappresentano il povero, colui che vive di agricoltura e pastorizia, coperto di stracci e abiti dismessi.\">Among the various characters that you can\u00a0meet in the streets of Schignano is the <strong>Brut:<\/strong> the hand-carved wooden masks representing the poor, the one who lives by agriculture and pastoralism, covered with rags. <\/span><span title=\"Spesso lo si trova accompagnato da campanacci e attrezzi da lavoro. \u00a0\">Often\u00a0he is accompanied by bells and work tools.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Il Mascarun invece \u00e8 l\u2019allegoria dei \u201cbelli\u201d rappresentati con abiti colorati ricchi di pizzi e merletti.\">The <strong>Mascarun<\/strong> is the allegory of the &#8220;beautiful&#8221; represented with rich colorful dresses of lace. <\/span><span title=\"La sua andatura \u00e8 nobile ed elegante, virt\u00f9 accentuata dall\u2019uso di ventagli ed ombrellini. \u00a0\">His gait is noble and elegant, enhanced by the use of fans and umbrellas.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Unico personaggio a poter parlare \u00e8 la Ciocia, un uomo vestito da donna con il volto coperto di fuliggine che fa la caricatura alle donne di un tempo lamentandosi del marito. \u00a0\">The only character who can talk is the <strong>Ciocia,<\/strong> a man dressed as a woman with the face covered with soot and makes a parody of a women complaining of her husband.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Aprono il corteo i Sapeur rappresentazione del sabato e del marted\u00ec grasso ed accompagnano la Sigurt\u00e0, simbolo delle autorit\u00e0. \u00a0\">Lead the procession the <strong>Sapeur<\/strong>, the\u00a0Saturday and Shrove Tuesday representation; they accompany the <strong>Sigurt\u00e0,<\/strong> a symbol of authority.<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Il Carlisepp \u00e8 il fantoccio simbolo del carnevale che il marted\u00ec grasso viene bruciato nella piazza principale del paese dopo aver cercato inutilmente di fuggire per le strade ed i vicoli.\">The <strong>Carlisepp<\/strong> is the symbol of the carnival puppet burned in the main square of the village on Shrove Tuesday after an unsuccessful attempt to escape along the streets and alleys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see in a video some images of the Carnival of Schignano and to listen a song in the tipical dialect ok <strong>Lake Como<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ul Carnevaal de Schignan 2016\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1zWHImd6uts?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the traditions related to the Carnival is that of the small\u00a0village of Schignano.
